Have you noticed the Kosmorama-branded Mini Cooper cars cruising around the city during the festival? Sulland MINI has been a long-standing partner of Kosmorama, and this year we’re celebrating the collaboration with a screening of The Italian Job (2003) — complete with popcorn and soft drinks included in the ticket!
About the film:
Master thief Charlie Croker and his team pull off a daring gold heist in Venice. The plan goes perfectly — until a brutal betrayal leads to the death of their leader. One year later, Charlie reunites the crew to seek revenge, this time in Los Angeles. With clever schemes, technological tricks, and iconic Mini Cooper cars, they set up a new heist to reclaim the gold.
The film moves at a blistering pace and delivers an entertaining story packed with spectacular car chases and inventive robberies. It takes itself just seriously enough, blending action-driven suspense with a playful tone. A stellar cast — including Mark Wahlberg, Charlize Theron, Edward Norton, and Donald Sutherland — brings the charismatic characters to life. The nimble Mini Cooper cars almost become characters in their own right in the hunt for the gold.
The Italian Job is loosely based on the 1969 cult classic of the same name. Both films were well received by critics and audiences alike, though for different reasons. While the original leans on British charm and humor, the American remake is a modern heist film with a faster pace and a tighter narrative.
Tickets go on sale February 13.
