Festival Pass and Tickets

At Kosmorama, you decide whether you want to watch one film or many!

Single tickets go on sale when the festival program is announced on February 25. Tickets can be purchased online or at Trondheim Kino’s sales locations (Nova Kino, Prinsen Kino, Trondheim Torg information desk).

Want to see multiple films?

A clip card (5 or 10 clips) or a festival pass might be the best option for you.

Single Tickets:

Multi-buy discount cards:

  • Available in 5 or 10 clips.
  • Can be used for all regular screenings at Prinsen Kino and Cinemateket during the festival.
  • Not valid for the opening film or special screenings/events.
  • Not personal – can be shared with friends and family.
  • Only available digitally at kosmorama.no or trondheimkino.no.
  • Clip card tickets for Cinemateket screenings can only be purchased online or at Trondheim Kino’s ticket sales locations (at least 30 minutes before showtime).
  • Not available for purchase over the counter at Cinemateket.

Festival Pass:

  • Grants access to all regular screenings at Prinsen Kino and Cinemateket during the festival.
  • Not valid for the opening film or special screenings/events.
  • Used to redeem tickets for the screenings you want to attend (a code will be sent via email—ignore the Hoopla code from the purchase confirmation).
  • Tickets can be redeemed at kosmorama.no, trondheimkino.no, or at Prinsen Kino, Nova Kino, and Trondheim Torg.
  • Personal and non-transferable.

When you purchase a festival pass, you automatically become a member of Kosmoklubben! This gives you early access to tickets, exclusive premieres, free film breakfast during the festival, and other exciting offers throughout the year.

NOTE: The festival pass code is sent out manually, so there may be a delay between your purchase and receiving your Kosmoklubb code, especially on evenings and weekends.

Early Bird Festival Pass:

A limited number of discounted festival passes are released for sale shortly after the festival ends each year. These are cheaper than the regular festival pass.

Age Restrictions:

All films in the program are clearly marked with an age limit. Please check this before purchasing tickets.

Cinemateket

Some of our screenings and events take place at Cinemateket Trondheim in Olavshallen. It takes about 15 minutes to walk there from Prinsen Cinema Center, or you can take a short bus ride. Be sure to check your ticket well in advance to ensure you arrive at the correct location for your film!

Ticket sales for all screenings at Cinemateket close online and at Trondheim Kino 30 minutes before the scheduled start time. After that, "rush tickets" are sold over the counter at Cinemateket.

Clip card tickets (also known as multi-buy discount card tickets) for screenings at Cinemateket can only be purchased online and at Trondheim Kino’s ticket counters. You cannot buy clip card tickets over the counter at Cinemateket.

Rushtickets

All festival pass holders must redeem tickets for the screenings they wish to attend. If ticket holders do not show up, their seats will be released for sale at the start of the screening, giving more people the chance to see the film.

Rush tickets are sold in a dedicated rush ticket queue at Prinsen Cinema.

New Directors Award & Audience Award

New Directors – Kosmorama’s Competition Program

In the New Directors program, Kosmorama has dedicated its competition section to the filmmakers of the future—the new voices in the global film industry whom we believe will make a strong impact in the years to come.

In this program, it’s not just about great films; the directors must also demonstrate something extraordinary as storytellers and/or visual artists. Kosmorama’s program committee has jointly nominated ten films to compete for the New Directors Award.

The films in the competition program also compete for the Audience Award, which you can help decide by voting after watching the films at the festival.

How to Vote for the Audience Award:

  • Find a voting slip after the screening.
  • Rate the film you just watched.
  • Write your name and email if you wish to enter the draw for a festival pass to Kosmorama 2026.
  • Drop your voting slip into one of the blue ballot boxes or at the information desk.

Bar 2

Bar 2 is located in Prinsen 2 and is our only screening room with a liquor license during Kosmorama Trondheim International Film Festival.

If you’d like to enjoy a drink during a screening in Prinsen 2, you can purchase it from the café and bring it into the theater.

The café area in the foyer at Prinsen is also licensed to serve alcohol.
