The Metamorphosis of Birds is an intimate and original depiction of the director's own family – an experimental and visually striking film that blurs the boundaries between documentary and fiction.
Read moreBeautifully shot and artistically ambitious, Catarina Vasconcelos tells the family story – from her grandparents' young love till the recently strengthened bond with her father after her mother's death. The family's memories are reconstructed with luscious images, accompanied by a poetic retelling of their personal stories. This results in a hybrid between fiction and documentary – a meditative depiction of memories, identity and motherly love.
This film is available at Kosmorama Digital 8th – 28th March.
