Hit the Road is a road trip movie through the rugged Iranian landscape. In the back seat there’s the father with a broken leg, his youngest son and their sick dog. This is the feature film debut of Panah Panahi, the son of one of Iran's most acclaimed directors, Jafar Panahi (Taxi Tehran, 2015). Although Panah bears certain cinematic similarities with his father, he also has his own clear and defined voice. Critics have also drawn parallels between Panah Panahi and another great Iranian filmmaker, Abbas Kiarostami (The Taste of Cherries, 1997).

Hit the Road is a fresh and irresistible feature film debut, which had its world premiere during Director's Fortnight in Cannes in 2021.
