Kosmorama once again welcomes you to a selection of culinary film experiences for the festivals 22nd edition March 2.-8. 2026.
SOLD OUT: TAMPOPO AT SPONTAN VINBAR
Tuesday 3. March & Wednesday 4. March at 19:00
Pack your suitcase and get ready for a sensory journey to Japan!
Spontan Vinbar invites you to a culinary evening in collaboration with Kosmorama — where film and gastronomy meet in a celebration of Japanese culinary art. On Tuesday and Wednesday during the festival week, we’re screening the cult classic Tampopo (1985) — a legendary “noodle western” that celebrates the passion for ramen, humor, and life’s simple pleasures.
Spontan’s kitchen presents an exclusive Japanese four-course menu: two varieties of ramen, delicate sashimi of dry-aged fish, and a refined dessert.
Price per person: NOK 1150. For those seeking the full experience, a carefully curated drink pairing will be available for purchase at the table.
About the Film
You’ve heard of spaghetti westerns — but have you heard of a noodle western? Tampopo borrows several conventions from the western genre, but its story unfolds as far from the Wild West as you can imagine. The result is one of Japan’s finest and most original cult comedies of all time.
The widow Tampopo runs a small ramen shop and struggles to keep her business afloat. Together with truck drivers Goro and Gun, she embarks on a series of clever and unpredictable adventures in their quest to create the perfect bowl of noodles.
Age limit: 15 years.

Joining them is the sly saber-toothed tiger Diego, whose hidden agenda puts everyone’s lives at risk.
The trio faces danger, betrayal, and newfound friendships, and through their journey they learn the value of community, courage, and finding family in the most unexpected places. Ice Age is a warm-hearted and humorous animated film that combines spectacular visuals with snappy dialogue and a generous dose of slapstick comedy. The unforgettable Scrat steals the show in his desperate hunt for the acorn, adding extra energy and humor. With its blend of action, comedy, and emotional moments, Ice Age has become a modern prehistoric adventure that appeals to both children and adults.

Chungking Express with Bula Neobistro
Wednesday, March 4 at 17:00
Once again, we are teaming up with Bula Neobistro for a culinary cinema experience during Kosmorama! This year, we invite you to a screening of Chungking Express at Prinsen Cinema, followed by a five-course dinner at Bula inspired by the film.
About the film:
Chungking Express is a vibrant, colorful love story in two parts, set in chaotic Hong Kong. In the first part, we meet a lonely police officer who counts the days after a breakup by buying canned pineapples—until he meets a mysterious woman with a blonde wig. In the second part, we follow another police officer who is also trying to move on after a breakup, unaware that a lively café worker has fallen in love with him—and finds her own unexpected way of showing it.
The film portrays a pulsating Hong Kong, with narrow streets, steam rising from pots and broths, smoke drifting up from charcoal grills, and a jumble of tiny shops and bars. Against this backdrop, the film blends romance, melancholy, and humor. Director Wong Kar-wai lets the city’s rhythm and the coincidences of love flow together into a cinematic kaleidoscope of light, color, and pop music. And “California Dreamin’” by The Mamas & The Papas—constantly, every day, on repeat, nonstop.
Chungking Express is a film that brims with energy. Since its release in 1994, it has achieved cult status and has been praised by both critics and filmmakers, including Quentin Tarantino.
When the film ends, we’ll stroll 500 meters down the street to Bula. There, at “Bula Express,” you’ll be served a seductive five-course meal featuring flavors from Hong Kong and the finest ingredients from Trøndelag.
Age limit: 15 years
FEW TICKETS REMAINING: The Double Life of Véronique with Rive Gauche
Saturday, March 7 at 11:00
In collaboration with Rive Gauche, we are screening Krzysztof Kieślowski’s beautiful and enigmatic film The Double Life of Véronique. The story follows two women who never meet but nevertheless share a mysterious connection. The Polish singer Weronika and the French music teacher Véronique live parallel lives — they resemble each other in every way, yet remain unaware of one another’s existence. When death claims one of them, the other feels an inexplicable sorrow, as if she has lost a part of herself.
The film explores themes of identity, destiny, and intuition, with an atmosphere that is both dreamlike and deeply moving. Irène Jacob plays both roles with warmth and mystery. Cinematographer Slawomir Idziak’s work turns everyday moments into pure poetry, enhanced by Zbigniew Preisner’s gorgeous score. The Double Life of Véronique is a film that seduces more than it explains — a sensual and hypnotic experience that reminds us we may not be as alone in the world as we think.
After the screening, we will cross the Bybroa to Rive Gauche in Bakklandet, where a lovely meal inspired by the film will be served.
Age limit: 9 years.
Note! Cancellations and ticket refunds must be made no later than 24 hours before the event starts via admin@kosmorama.no.
