The Mid-Fest at Tyven was a wonderful conclusion to the industry day Pitch & Påfyll, and a lovely celebration of the 22nd edition of Kosmorama. During the evening, we presented awards to the winners of this year’s NTNU Film Award, the Mid-Norwegian Investor Pitch, and the Filminvest Feature Film Pitch. Congratulations to all the winners!

Mid-Norwegian Investor Pitch 2026 – SCREEN WARS – KVITLAND AS

The winner stood out with a very well-prepared, clear, and energetic presentation, delivered with strong communication skills and a touch of humor.

About the project:
Screen Wars is a location-based mobile game currently in development that turns the battle for screen time on its head. Instead of focusing on passive “digital detox,” the game encourages active, social competition (PvP) in the real world. The goal is to create a global social trend where time spent offline with friends becomes the ultimate currency for winning the game.

From the jury’s statement:
The solution appears innovative and timely, addressing a real societal challenge related to screen use. At the same time, the approach makes the theme more motivating and less moralizing, which the jury considers an important strength. The concept has the potential to appeal to multiple target groups—especially young people and parents—and holds significant international market potential within a large and financially strong user base. The concept can be easily explained through the elevator pitch “Strava for screen time,” which the jury found both precise and easy to understand.

The jury congratulates Screen Wars as the winner of the main prize at this year’s Investor Pitch and looks forward to testing it—and to seeing and hearing how the project develops in the future.

Filminvest Series Pitch – 2026 Winner: Trond Morten Venaasen with the project Englemakeren

Out of 24 submitted proposals, the jury selected three projects to be pitched during Filminvest’s professional seminar at Kosmorama this year:
Det du så – Kamilla Fausa
Pokal – Erik Ivar Sæter andIvar Aase
Englemakeren – Trond Morten Venaasen

The three projects are very different. Det du så is a multiple-choice series aimed at a young audience. Pokal is a comedy-drama series, while Englemakeren is a historical series based on true events. From the jury’s statement: The series receiving Filminvest’s Pitch Award 2026 is a drama series based on true stories. The jury sees potential for multiple seasons. The project should further clarify its concept, and the connection between the different storylines needs to be strengthened. The jury was particularly intrigued by the storyline connected to the “Fløttum boy.” They also expressed strong belief in a historical drama set in Norway—specifically Oslo and Trøndelag in 1907.

The independent jury consisted of Ivar Køhn, Head of Drama at Rubicon TV, Stig Hjerkinn Haug, head of Stig & Stein, and Henriette Steenstrup, actor and writer.

NTNU Film Award 2026 - KLIPP OG LIM

From the jury’s statement:
With its distinctive artistic expression, international outlook, and strong commitment to the next generation of filmmakers, it is a great pleasure to award the NTNU Film Award 2026 to the company Klipp og Lim.

The recipient of the NTNU Film Award has been a central part of the professional film industry in Trøndelag for more than 25 years. As one of the longest-running production companies in the region, they have become a cornerstone of Trøndelag’s film environment. This year’s winner is behind numerous productions—both documentary and fiction—but has particularly distinguished itself within animation. With creative curiosity, courage, and playfulness, they create film and animation productions with a unique visual language and compelling quality.

The company is not afraid to explore and experiment with new forms of expression. By combining different styles and developing original ideas, they produce films that engage and surprise—works that are both locally rooted and internationally resonant. They have also pioneered new approaches to international co-productions of short films.

This year’s winner has attracted attention far beyond Norway’s borders. With the short film Ovary-Acting, they have been nominated for the Annie Awards—often referred to as the animation industry’s equivalent of the Academy Awards. The film has been selected for several prestigious international festivals, including the Tribeca Film Festival in New York and the world’s largest animation festival, the Annecy International Animation Film Festival, demonstrating the company’s growing presence on the international film stage.
