The Zone of Interest at Falstadsenteret
Welcome to a truly unique screening of Jonathan Glazer’s The Zone of Interest in the commandant’s residence at the Falstad Centre.
In collaboration with the Falstad Centre, Kosmorama presents this haunting film about Auschwitz commandant Rudolf Höss and his family in a unique and unprecedented context. On Saturday, March 22, we will host two screenings in the commandant’s residence at the Falstad Centre, with transportation provided from Birralee, right next to Prinsen Cinema.
Following the screenings, there will be a discussion featuring distinguished researchers from the Falstad Centre and NTNU. Soup will be served for lunch/dinner afterward, and attendees will also have the opportunity to explore the Falstad Centre as part of the experience.
Note: Tickets are extremely limited, so be sure to secure yours early.

About the film:
The Höss family embodies the image of idyllic German family life. For the children, daily life is filled with play and laughter, blissfully unaware that their safe haven is located right next to the Auschwitz extermination camp, where their father is the commander. It’s rare to gain a completely new perspective on World War II, but Jonathan Glazer’s The Zone of Interest offers precisely that. Through its unique storytelling approach, the film provides a glimpse into the lives of those who may not have been directly involved in the atrocities but still played a role during the Holocaust.
