Finally! You can now catch the opening film of Kosmorama 2026 on the big screen once again.

At the heart of Norway’s powerful black metal scene, a new force suddenly emerges. Nikoline, Victoria and Johanna enter into a three-year pact in which they dedicate their entire lives to awakening the world, each other and themselves as witches. In record time, the trio go from being unable to play instruments or growl to becoming a global phenomenon, booked to perform at major international festivals and embark on world tours.

Witch Club Satan is not just a feminist black metal band that has taken audiences by storm; it is also a project that demands more of the women than they could ever have imagined. We follow the trio on their journey to discover their primal power, through the ups and downs of the band’s first three years. It gets dark, raw, honest and bloody.

Thelma

Where: Cinemateket in Trondheim

With Thelma, Joachim Trier ventures into the horror genre while continuing his tasteful and elegant exploration of Oslo as a filming location. The film follows Thelma, who has grown up in a Christian and overprotective home in Southern Norway and is now about to begin university life at Blindern. The transition to student life in Oslo proves to be a major adjustment, and the feelings she develops for her fellow student Anja are both confusing and unsettling.

Thelma is described as a supernatural thriller about a young woman with inexplicable powers. At the same time, the film is a psychological drama that explores the profound, irrational forces within human beings and how suppressing and repressing emotions can lead people to commit incomprehensible acts. The film portrays how inner turmoil and murderous fantasies can unfold when intense emotions such as hatred and jealousy take hold. The characters we encounter, and the relationships between them, can thus be said to represent universal psychological phenomena that affect us all in different ways.
