Iñárritu directs the film from a screenplay by Iñárritu, Oscar winners Alexander Dinelaris and Nicolás Giacobone, and Sabina Berman, based on a story by Berman, Iñárritu, and Jez Butterworth. The film is produced by Iñárritu, Oscar nominee Mary Parent, and Tom Cruise.

Let’s Make Love (35mm)

Let’s Make Love (Norwegian title: Hurra for kjærligheten!) follows billionaire Jean-Marc Clement, who learns that a small revue theatre is planning to include a parody of him in its show. He goes to one of the rehearsals to put a stop to it, but changes his mind after seeing the leading actress, Amanda, perform “My Heart Belongs to Daddy.” The show has yet to find someone to play the role of Jean-Marc, and the director assumes that Clement has come to audition. He is, naturally, offered the role of himself, and accepts solely to get a little closer to Amanda—without revealing his true identity.
George Cukor’s Let’s Make Love was Monroe’s final musical. Both she and her husband, Arthur Miller, wanted her to take on more serious roles. Miller wrote the screenplay for The Misfits, which gave Marilyn exactly that opportunity, but sadly, it also became her final film. Despite her reservations about the role, Monroe shines in this charming, straightforward romantic musical. Montand is equally delightful with his broken English. Also look out for cameos by Bing Crosby and Gene Kelly, who teach Jean-Marc how to sing and dance so that he can play himself as convincingly as possible.
