Where: Cinemateket in Trondheim

Ramaskrik Folk Horror Minifestival 2026 and Cinemateket i Trondheim invite you to a Folk Horror mini-festival in Trondheim on April 23–24. Four mysterious, eerie, new and classic films are on the program.

Few things are as frightening as small places, closed communities, and mysterious masks. Although Ramaskrik this time moves from the countryside to the city, the aim is still to deliver some truly chilling experiences in Cinemateket’s beautiful cinema hall in Olavshallen.

We look forward to seeing both familiar and new faces in the audience over these two days. The program is as follows:

Thursday, April 23
18:00 – Koko-di Koko-da (Johannes Nyholm, 2019)
20:00 – Frewaka (Aislinn Clarke, 2024)

Friday, April 24
18:00 – An Taibshe (John Farrelly, 2024)
20:00 – Witchfinder General (Michael Reeves, 1968)

Two Prosecutors

1 To Anklagere Sergei Loznitza

Where: Trondheim kino

Two Prosecutors is a compelling thriller-drama set in the Soviet Union in 1937. A young state prosecutor, Kornev, receives a note written in blood from the local prison. As the conscientious civil servant he is, he carries out an inspection of the facility. How far will—and should—Kornev go in insisting that the case be investigated further?

The film follows Kornev, brilliantly played by Aleksandr Kuznetsov, through the dark prison complexes, public transport, and intimidating bureaucratic institutions of the Stalin era. Scene after scene unfolds through tense exchanges, where the sense grows that imprisonment or execution may hinge on a single unfortunate phrasing.

Alongside films like Captain Volkonogov Escaped and The Death of Stalin, Two Prosecutors joins a line of sharp cinematic works that vividly portray the darkly absurd and terrifying systems of the Stalin period.
