In collaboration with Rive Gauche, we are screening Krzysztof Kieślowski’s beautiful and enigmatic film The Double Life of Véronique on Saturday, March 11 at 11:00.
The Double Life of Véronique tells the story of two women who never meet, yet share a mysterious connection. The Polish singer Weronika and the French music teacher Véronique live parallel lives – they resemble each other in every way but are unaware of one another’s existence. When death claims one of them, the other feels an inexplicable sorrow, as if she has lost a part of herself.

Cinematographer Slawomir Idziak’s camerawork transforms everyday moments into pure poetry, enhanced by Zbigniew Preisner’s beautiful score.
It is a film that seduces more than it explains. It is a sensory and hypnotic experience that reminds us we may not be as alone in the world as we think.
