The Club of Angels is based on Brazilian author Luis Fernando Verissimo's best-selling novel of the same name, from 1998. Director Angelo Defanti offers a visually effervescent adaptation, which is as thought-provoking as much as it tickles the taste buds. Defanti’s solid grasp of the narrative as well as the remarkable artistic touches and strong acting performances makes this an impressive feature film debut.
