Hoard is a remarkable debut film by the self-taught filmmaker Luna Carmoon. Her intricate character portrayals delve deep into a dysfunctional mother-daughter relationship and how it continues to affect the daughter for years. Saura Lightfoot Leon delivers a poignant and fearless performance as the teenage Maria. Joseph Queen, best known as Eddie in the TV series Stranger Things, does a great performance as Michael.

With its compelling narrative and captivating aesthetics, this is both a beautiful and poignant film about memories and loneliness.
