Another great year for the Kosmorama DKS-program
In addition to record numbers for the festival in 2024, Kosmorama had yet another great partnership with DKS where 11 711 students were able to come and watch movies during week 10.
DKS is short for Den Kulturelle Skolesekken (the cultural backpack) and is a national initiative aimed at bringing professional art of all kinds to students in primary and secondary schools. Kosmorama collaborates with DKS to screen films for students in primary, secondary, and high schools at both municipal and regional levels.
New this year was Kosmorama's collaboration with Kimen Kino in Stjørdal and Steinkjer Kino, making it easier for students in the northern region to access films organized by Kosmorama.
Student Involvement
In recent years, there has been increasing focus on the importance of children and young people contributing input on how they want their cultural offerings to be. Kosmorama has been working on various forms of student involvement for many years, but in 2024, we achieved even more thanks to strengthened financial resources for this work. Some of the funds are only for one year, so we hope to secure increased funding for this initiative in the future. We see that student involvement is beneficial both for those who participate and for the festival. Together, we create a better offering for children and young people.
Student Juries
To select films for Kosmorama's DKS program, Kosmorama collaborates with a student jury from a selected secondary or high school. Here, students have the opportunity to watch potential films themselves and influence what is shown in the school program. Students also have the opportunity to express their opinions about the films and discuss them with Kosmorama's staff and among themselves. This year, students from Huseby skole and Trondheim katedralskole participated in the juries.
Photographers from Charlottenlund vgs
This year, we also involved students from Charlottenlund Media as part of Kosmorama's initiative for student involvement. Several students from the school had the opportunity to try their hand at photography, videography, and content creation for social media during the festival. Some of the students' photos and clips were then used in Kosmorama's own channels throughout the festival week.

Throughout the year, Kosmorama also had several students from Tiller High School in internships, and these students had the opportunity to try out various tasks during their internship period.
