In this Taiwanese drama, we meet Ai-Lee and Yen, a mother and daughter whose lives are turned upside down by a tragic event. What remains of their family makes daily life—and each other—challenging to navigate. One day, a new challenge enters their already strained relationship: the father’s illegitimate child is left at their doorstep.
Their unstable dynamic and the unresolved trauma beneath it set the stage for Tom Lin Shu-yu’s latest film. The movie had its world premiere at the 2024 Busan Film Festival, where it became the first Taiwanese film to win the prestigious Kim Jiseok Award.
