The Rolling Stones is undoubtedly one of the most legendary rock bands in history. This documentary explores the key to the band's success and reveals how founder Brian Jones was left in the shadows of history. Brian Jones was a creative musical genius but struggled with serious drug abuse and met a tragic fate. In 1969, he was excluded from the band he had started, and just one month later, he drowned in a swimming pool.

It is directed by the British documentary veteran Nick Broomfield, who has previously been behind films such as Kurt & Courtney (1998) and Marianne & Leonard: Words of Love (2019).
