Kosmorama presents the winner of the 2025 Nordic Council Film Prize. Set in a small fishing village on a remote island, this is the first Faroese film ever to receive the award. Kári is a grounded man working at the local fish factory – the lifeblood of the community. When the factory faces closure, people begin leaving the village, including Kári’s closest friends. Kári chooses to stay. Rather than fleeing from uncertainty, he commits to preserving the community that shaped him.

This contemplative drama reminds us that what is close and familiar can be just as valuable as the world’s endless possibilities. The screening will be introduced by Professor of Film Studies Anne Gjelsvik.
