Rá, Culebro, Sere, Winny and Nano are five street kids who decide to flee from their miserable existence in the big smoke of Medellin and set out in search of a piece of land that Rá has inherited from his grandmother. They have always felt they exist on the periphery of society, but this will provide them with a chance to start over and build their own future. The journey will turn out to be much more dramatic than they’d bargained for.
Read moreThis perilous passage is masterfully depicted through the camera lens of David Gallego, who has previously shot such visually appealing films as Embrace of the Serpent (2015), Birds of Passage (2018) and War Pony (2022). The evocative soundscape also helps to envelop the film with a mysterious atmosphere that makes the Colombian jungle appear extra intimidating.
This aesthetically brilliant film won the main prize at the San Sebastian Film Festival.
