Despite being only 12 years old, Dalva dresses up and puts on makeup just as an adult woman would. One evening, the police storm into the home she and her father live in, and Dalva is placed into care at a youth home, where what her father has been doing to her gradually starts to sink in.

This poignant debut film by Emmanuelle Nicot deals with troublesome subjects in a sensitive way. Most of the film is told from Dalva's point of view, and there is a lot to admire in young Zelda Samson’s particularly convincing performance in the titular role.
