Welcome to the Kyrkbyn retirement home! Before activity coordinator Monica started working here, the residents hardly knew each other, while in the film we meet them as a close-knit group sharing life's joys and sorrows. Central to the story is the friendship between Monica and one of the residents, Ella, who will soon be turning one hundred. Together they try to come to terms with the twilight years, with humour, warmth and with all guns blazing.

The film is co-directed by local Trondheim director Anders Teigen, who also has a long, distinguished career as an editor, and took home the NTNU film prize during Kosmorama in 2017.
