Nine-year-old Nelly is with her parents while they’re cleaning out the house of her recently passed grandmother. In the forest surrounding the house she meets Marion, who is the same age, inviting her to help build her fort and taking her home when it suddenly begins to rain. Nelly is constantly discovering new and peculiar things about Marion, wondering who exactly this strange but welcoming, caring girl really is.

The film was nominated for the Golden Bear in the (virtual) Berlin Film Festival in 2021, quickly became a sensation. This “minor" yet still substantial story was also a product of the pandemic, rapidly and effortlessly produced, and shot in one location with a small crew both in front and behind the camera. It caused somewhat of a stir and even some anger amongst critics and film lovers alike when it failed to win any awards at Berlinale.
