Heim is a witty and heartfelt romantic comedy about friendship, grief, and love, set in the heart of Trøndelag. When 39-year-old Anni loses her job and is forced to move back home to her mother – and her childhood bedroom in Steinkjer – everything falls apart. Single, broke, and thoroughly lost, she must confront the past she has been running from her entire adult life. What begins as a disaster may turn out to be a second chance.

With a strong Trøndelag presence both in front of and behind the camera, they have crafted a comedy with broad appeal – regardless of where “home” may be for the audience.
Heim is part of the Reprise program, in which five Kosmorama staff members select memorable cinema experiences from 2025. Festival director Silje Engeness chose Heim, saying:
“Heim is a warm, funny, and honest film about finding your way back – to yourself, to others, and to the place you come from. I especially appreciate films that offer feel-good without becoming superficial, and knowing how Julie Skaufel and Bente Maalen work, I was confident they would absolutely nail it.”
