ELSKLING

This film is part of the Reprise program series. In this series, five of Kosmorama’s employees have selected memorable cinema experiences from 2024.

Industry manager Asbjørn Tiller has chosen Elskling. "When I arrived at the Norwegian International Film Festival in Haugesund this fall, one of the first people I met was Lilja Ingolfsdottir, who told me that her debut film Elskling was about to be screened. So, I went straight in without knowing much about the film beforehand. Elskling hit me like a punch and sent both me and the rest of the audience on an emotional rollercoaster that was impossible not to be affected by. I believe everyone in the theater had been in situations that, in some way, could relate to the story unfolding on the screen."

Elskling has been a major box office success here at home and has also found an international audience. The film has already collected several prestigious awards, both for direction and acting, at major international film festivals. Moreover, it demonstrates that significant and important cinematic stories can be produced without sky-high budgets.
