Down with the King

Mercury eschews the city in favour of a remote life in the village in order to write new music and work on his next album. He is becoming increasingly frustrated with the music industry and trying to break free from a life he no longer wants. With increasing pressure from the manager and record company to deliver a new album, it would appear that embarking on this creative process is easier said than done.

Diego Ongaro's Down With the King is an honest portrayal of doubt, expressed in a subtle and powerful way by Gibbs. It is worth noting that the film has been given the same title as Run-D.M.C ’s 1993 comeback album, one which has often been referred to as a response to the changing rap scene in the 90’s.
