Daughter of Rage is a heartbreaking drama about eleven-year-old Maria, who lives with her mother in a garbage tip in Managua, Nicaragua as they try to make ends meet by recycling metal and plastic. Already under enormous pressure, an unfortunate set of circumstances leads to Maria having to be handed over to organised child labour.

Daughter of Rage is full of tenderness, although the need for love and security does come with its challenging conditions. Amateur actress Ara Alejandra Medal performs brilliantly in the titular role, reassuringly convincing us that Maria will be fine.
