The summer days are long and hot in the Berlin district of Kreuzberg. In the middle of this heat we meet Nora, who is about to take her first steps towards adulthood. This transition is intensified considerably when her big sister Jule takes her under her wing and shows her what it takes to be a teenager in Berlin.
Nora becomes a silent observer in a new and unknown environment where Jule and her friends talk about boys, alcohol and culture. All of this chugs along like uncontrolled waves of hormonal anxiety for Nora, until a new girl, Romy, shows up. Suddenly, Nora discovers that she has feelings that apparently no one else has. Cocoon is a delicate yet pulsating coming-of-age portrait of bodily discoveries, of infatuation and desires.
This film is available at Kosmorama Digital 8th – 28th March.
