Wednesday, March 19, at 5:00 PM, we warmly welcome you to a special screening of The Soloists – a documentary about the Ukrainian orchestra Kyiv Soloists!
Before the film, director Trond Kvig Andreassen and violinist Nataliia Koliada from Kyiv Soloists will give a brief introduction. Immediately after the screening, the audience will be treated to a musical performance by Nataliia in the theater. This will be followed by a discussion about the film, moderated by Sveinung Lillebjerka.
About the Film:
The war in Ukraine fully erupted on February 23 – the same date that the Ukrainian symphony orchestra Kyiv Soloists was on a short trip to Italy. Is it possible to return to a war-torn country – and is it the best thing for the nation?
They make a bold decision to extend their musical journey, spreading Ukrainian culture and a message of peace. The Soloists captures the tragedy of war and the power of music through the perspective of a string orchestra.
