Premiere screening: The Lives of my Father

Director Magnus Skatvold made a major impact with Kosmorama’s opening film Trondheimsreisen in 2018, and we are now delighted to welcome audiences to the premiere of his latest film. The NRK series The Agent – My Father’s Life and Lies won the award for Best Documentary at the international TV festival Canneseries. The series has now been re-edited into a feature-length cinematic documentary titled The Lives of My Father, which will have its Norwegian premiere at Kosmorama.

We therefore welcome you to an exclusive gala premiere together with director Magnus Skatvold on Friday, March 6 at 8:00 PM. After the screening, you are invited to an afterparty at Alma’s, with DJ Linda Jenssen providing the music.

About the film:

Some families hide extraordinary secrets. When Didrik was ten years old, he learned why his father was so often absent: he was a spy. As an adult, Didrik sets out to uncover how this all fits together — and whether it was even true. It turns out that Didrik’s fairly ordinary life in Trondheim stands in stark contrast to his father’s shadowy activities as a CIA agent, where he repeatedly found himself at the center of major world events, deceiving everyone around him.

Director Magnus Skatvold enjoyed great success at Kosmorama in 2018 with Trondheimsreisen, the festival’s opening film that year. Now, he invites us on a new — but very different — deep dive into the archives. He unfolds an incredible story with a dramatic and adventurous life narrative, while the film also serves as a powerful and intimate portrait of reconciliation between father and son.
