Olavskino is a collaboration between Olavsfest, Trondheim Kino, and the Kosmorama International Film Festival. Every day during Olavsfest, films are shown at Prinsen Cinema Center.
About the film:
Together with Herodes Falsk and Tom Mathisen, Jahn Teigen was part of Prima Vera—Norway’s answer to Monty Python, competing with KLM for the comedy crown. This film draws clear inspiration from the BBC anarchists' quest for the Holy Grail, while also offering its own brand of unique madness.
Here we follow Olav Digre (played by Teigen), who would later become known as Saint Olav, through all stages of life—from birth to his dramatic end. The song “Olavs menn” topped the Norwegian charts (Norsktoppen) for several weeks in 1983, featured on what would become Prima Vera’s final studio album.
