Mandagsfilmen 6. October is Stargate - A Christmas Story
About the film
Ten-year-old Ronja lives in a housing block, but dreams of a log cabin in the forest where wolves howl under a starry sky. It’s December, and her dad is unemployed again—until one day he gets a job selling Christmas trees. At last, the apartment smells of pine and the fridge is full, if only for a short while. But sometimes the temptations become too much for Dad, and Ronja and her older sister Melissa are left to fend for themselves. Together they take over his job as Christmas tree sellers, and discover that even though life can be really tough, it can at the same time be really beautiful.
Stargate – A Christmas Story is a moving and heartwarming tale set in the weeks before Christmas: about a father who tries his best, but not enough; an older sister who attempts to step into his shoes; and a younger sister who never stops dreaming. It is a film about friendship, about kind helpers, and about the magic of Christmas.
Ingvild H. Rishøi’s beloved novel Stargate – A Christmas Story became an instant Christmas classic when it was published. Since then, it has been celebrated by critics and readers all over the world. Now, the book has finally been adapted for the screen.
Every Monday at 6:00 PM, you can watch a quality film at Trondheim Kino, in collaboration with Kosmorama.
