Mandagsfilmen 29. September is Henden - Requiem for a photographer

War photographer Harald Henden was Norway’s eye on the frontlines for decades – but overnight he must fight his own, personal battle.

About the film
The acclaimed war photographer Harald Henden receives an incurable diagnosis and realizes he has only months left to live. The time that follows is filled with contrasts – from hospital visits to award ceremonies and warm, humorous moments with his best friend Morten.

At the same time, Harald looks back on an extreme existence as a rapid-response photographer, with a suitcase packed for everything that could go wrong in some of the world’s worst conflict zones. He speaks about the images he captured, while also reflecting on the ones he didn’t – in those moments when he set down the camera in order to help.

Rune Denstad Langlo, the director of Henden, expected to meet a hardened war photographer, but was left with the impression of “a humble gentleman, full of humor and warmth.”

Harald Henden took iconic photographs that mattered to the entire world, and the documentary about him brings them to the big screen in a humorous and universal story about how we humans can come to terms with our limited time on earth.

“Touching, generous and surprisingly funny”
