The Monday Film on 16 November is Calle Málaga. If you missed it at Kosmorama in 2026, here’s your chance to see it after all!
Calle Málaga is a heartwarming film starring Carmen Maura, best known for her roles in Pedro Almodóvar’s films.
Eighty-year-old María Ángeles lives in the Spanish quarter of Tangier, Morocco. When her daughter Clara finally comes for a long-awaited visit, it is to pressure her mother into selling her apartment so that Clara can get out of financial difficulties following a divorce. But María Ángeles, who was born in Tangier, is deeply rooted in the local community and dearly loved by her neighbours, has no intention of moving. Resourceful as she is, she rolls up her sleeves and pulls out all the stops to get what she wants.
Calle Málaga is a warm, moving and inspiring drama filled with humour. Legendary actress Carmen Maura (born in 1945) is on top form as María Ángeles, showing that the joy of life, determination and love need not fade away just because you have passed the age of 80.
The film has won numerous awards, including the Audience Award at both the Venice Film Festival and the Tromsø International Film Festival.
Every Monday at 6 pm, you can enjoy a quality film at Prinsen 6, presented in collaboration between Kosmorama and Trondheim Kino.
