Spontan Vinbar invites you to two culinary evenings in collaboration with Kosmorama — where film and gastronomy meet in a celebration of Japanese culinary art.
On Tuesday and Wednesday during festival week, we’re screening the cult classic Tampopo (1985) — a legendary “ramen western” that celebrates the passion for noodles, humor, and life’s simple pleasures.
Spontan’s kitchen presents an exclusive Japanese four-course menu: two varieties of ramen, delicate sashimi of dry-aged fish, and a refined dessert.
The price per person is 1150,-, and for those seeking the complete experience, a carefully curated drink pairing will be available for purchase at the table.
About the Film
You’ve heard of spaghetti westerns — but have you heard of a noodle western? Tampopo borrows several conventions from the western genre, but its story takes place as far from the Wild West as you can imagine. The result is one of Japan’s greatest cult comedies of all time.
Two truck drivers, Goro and Gun, stop by a small ramen shop run by Tampopo, a widow struggling to keep her business afloat. Goro offers her some helpful advice, and together they set out on a quest to create the perfect bowl of noodles. Their passion leads them into a series of clever and unpredictable adventures.
Tampopo gained cult status after its release in 1985. Renowned critic Roger Ebert awarded it four out of four stars and compared its humor to the films of Jacques Tati. With its playful twists and meticulous attention to detail, this is a truly original and delightful film.

Doors open at 18:30 on both evenings, and the film starts at 19:00. The wine bar will also be open from 16:00 prior to the event.
Please double-check the date on your ticket, as there are two separate screenings on different days.
This event is part of Kulinarisk kino (Culinary Cinema), a special Kosmorama program series that highlights food culture by combining cinematic and culinary experiences. Kosmorama is proud to collaborate with some of the wonderful culinary venues in the food city of Trondheim!
