Single mother Julie has taken her two children with her and moved out of Paris, partly due to financial concerns but also because she believes a life in the country will provide them with a better lifestyle. The big drawback is the long commute to work, every day. It doesn’t help that it is a demanding job which she patently does not enjoy.
Single mother Julie has taken her two children with her and moved out of Paris, partly due to financial concerns but also because she believes a life in the country will provide them with a better lifestyle. The big drawback is the long commute to work, every day. It doesn’t help that it is a demanding job which she patently does not enjoy.
One day she is finally called in for an interview for an interesting position which is more relevant to her education, but when the whole of Paris becomes crippled by a transport strike, it could all go up in smoke.
The film’s intensity virtually allows us to taste the blood in Julie’s mouth, as she constantly runs around trying to make it all happen for her small family, ensuring they have a dignified, agreeable life.
