Ebba is 18 years old and lonely in the world. One evening, she finds a stranger by the Oslo harbor. The man, who appears to be Eastern European, is heavily battered and has lost his memory. Impulsively, Ebba decides to lie to him. She tells him that they are a couple and deeply in love. However, as she learns more about the man's identity, her fear grows that he will expose the lie.
