Gudnason originally dreamt of becoming a filmmaker, and with camera in hand he would document the Copenhagen rap scene in the 90s. Gradually his calling for playing music himself started to materialise, resulting in one of Norway's most distinctive rap phenomena, Side Brok.
Although Gudnason has moved back to his home village, he has maintained regular contact with Denmark, not least because his son Sigurd still lives there. In several of the film's wonderful scenes, both father and son explore the diversified world of rap together. I Got Words is a playful and humorous dive into the secrets of language, taking a heartfelt look at Scandinavian rap culture. This is the first time the film will be shown to the public.
