The young couple Banel and Adama live in a small village in Senegal. They are deeply in love with each other and plan to move away to build a new future together. However, the villagers expect Adama to take over as the village leader, and when Adama refuses, tensions rise. The villagers face a drought, and they talk about an impending sandstorm. Is this a punishment for Adama's decision?
