What do you do when you're young and ambitious but stuck in Manchester? Move to Berlin, of course!
"Berlin wasn't pretty, but it was damn sexy."
Manchester in the late ’70s was a dump—at least, that’s how Mark Reeder describes his hometown in B-Movie: Lust & Sound in West-Berlin. After discovering German electronic music while working at a record store, Mark spontaneously decides to move to West Berlin to meet his musical heroes. Reeder never got to meet the lead singer of Tangerine Dream, but he instantly fell in love with West Berlin’s boundless live music scene.
The result is a love letter to the music, the city, and its people—told through Reeder’s own archival footage and his enthusiastic narration.
Mark Reeder is attending this year's Kosmorama with both B Movie: Lust and Sound in West-Berlin (1979-1989) and a restored version of Berliner Ballade (1948)
