Vibeke Løkkeberg’s debut film was praised for its bold and honest storytelling but also sparked controversy. The nude scenes featuring Takvam led to what the media called the "butt feud," with some arguing that the film offered too little hope for women wanting to break free from the housewife role. At the same time, Åpenbaringen (Revelation) shed light on both women’s vulnerability and the struggle for equality.
