This film centers on some mysterious letters that were found in a cupboard at a film school in India. The author is unknown, simply called ‘L’, but it turns out that L is a student who has written the letters to her boyfriend, who she is not allowed to meet. What emanates from this is a vivid picture of love, student rebellion, police violence and the caste system in modern India.

This experimental documentary is composed of archival footage, silent film clips, surveillance videos, mobile footage and newly recorded material, yet remains remarkably consistent in its visual expression.
