Based on the true story of a British business man (Benedict Cumberbatch) who spied for the CIA during the Cold War.
Dominic Cook's reality-based drama, starring Benedict Cumberbatch, is about businessman Greville Wynne who was recruited as a spy by British and American intelligence during the Cold War. Wynne and his Russian source, Oleg Penkovsky, provided important intelligence to the CIA by infiltrating the Soviet Union's nuclear weapons plans, thus preventing the Cuban crisis from developing.
In other roles, we meet Jessie Buckley (Wild Rose and Chernobyl) as Mrs Wynne and Rachel Brosnahan (The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel) as the CIA's contact person.
