Mandagsfilmen: The Young Mother's Home

Jessica, Perla, Julie, Naïma, and Ariane have all grown up under difficult circumstances and now live at a shelter for young mothers in Liège, Belgium. Here they receive support during pregnancy, help with caring for their newborns, and even guidance on how to approach potential adoptive parents.

The film paints a portrait of each of the five women and their unique stories, touching on themes such as homelessness and adoption. While each journey is deeply personal, the collective support at the shelter becomes their shared backbone as they all fight to build a better life for themselves and their children.

This is a powerful piece of social realism from the outstanding Dardenne brothers, which won the Best Screenplay Award at this year’s Cannes Film Festival.
