Mandagsfilmen: Konvoi

"Konvoi" is inspired by real events and is about one of the biggest dramas that unfolded at sea during the Second World War.

In the summer of 1941, Hitler's war machine seemed unstoppable. After subduing much of Europe, Germany now invaded the Soviet Union. The Allies were forced to help. Convoys of cargo ships were filled to the brim with war material and began the perilous journey from Iceland to Murmansk and Arkhangelsk.

In Konvoi we follow a Norwegian cargo ship on its dramatic journey. During the journey, the convoy splits up and they are left to fend for themselves. Without any kind of military background, the crew now stands face to face with the German war machine in the icy Arctic Ocean. Under unstoppable attack, the young crew fight for their lives in an effort to get the cargo out, end the war and get home.
