Mandagsfilmen 3. June is One Life.
One Life tells the true story of Sir Nicholas Winton, who saved more than 600 children from the Nazis during World War II. Nicky considered himself an ordinary businessman, but he had a rude awakening from his safe life when he visited newly occupied Prague in 1938. There, he witnessed how fleeing Jews were treated, and therefore he did what he believed was the only right thing to do: everything in his power to help. With the war looming, it became a race against time. How many children could he rescue before it was too late?
In 1988, 50 years later, Nicky is still haunted by the fate of the children he couldn't save. It wasn't until he was surprised on live television by the survivors that he could accept that in the face of such horrors, saving just one life is a victory.
