The Mandagsfilm on the 24. November is Den siste viking (The Last Viking)
The film The Last Viking is Anders Thomas Jensen’s latest comedy, starring Mads Mikkelsen and Nikolaj Lie Kaas in the lead roles.
About the film
Anker is released after serving 15 years in prison for robbery. His brother, Manfred, is the only one who knows where the stolen money is hidden.
However, in the meantime, Manfred has developed a mental condition that leaves him unaware of where the money is stashed.
Together, the brothers set out on a journey back to their childhood home — not only to find the money, but also to rediscover who they really are.
The Last Viking is Anders Thomas Jensen’s sixth film as a director, and it also marks his sixth collaboration with two of Denmark’s biggest stars, Nikolaj Lie Kaas and Mads Mikkelsen, who play Anker and Manfred, respectively.
As a director, Anders Thomas Jensen is behind some of Denmark’s most beloved films, including Flickering Lights, The Green Butchers, and Riders of Justice.
The cast also features many familiar faces from Jensen’s film universe, such as Sofie Gråbøl, Lars Brygmann, Bodil Jørgensen, Søren Malling, Nicolas Bro, and Lars Ranthe.
