On Monday 23rd of August, we will be visited by director Egil Vogt!
The days of summer are long and warm. But not everyone goes on holiday. Four children get to know each other and together they explore the blocks where they live and the forest around. Hidden from the parents' eyes, the children's innocent play develops into something more. Creepy things are starting to happen.
THE INNOCENT is an intense thriller written and directed by Eskil Vogt. In the main roles, four children make completely unique acting performances that have not been seen before in Norwegian film before.
The film has had its world premiere in the prestigious program Un certain regard at the Cannes Film Festival. This is the first time in 10 years that a Norwegian film has been selected for this program.
This is the first time Rakel Lenora Fløttum, Alva Brynsmo Ramstad, Sam Ashraf and Mina Yasmin Bremseth Asheim play in a film. They were between 7 and 11 years old during the recording.
In other roles in the film we find Ellen Dorrit Petersen, Kadra Yusuf, Morten Svartveit and Lisa Tønne.
THE INNOCENT is Eskil Vogt's second feature film. His first feature film BLIND premiered at the Sundance and Berlin Film Festivals in 2014 and won over 20 international awards. Vogt also has a close collaboration with director Joachim Trier and is the screenwriter of all Trier films, most recently THELMA (2018) and THE WORST PERSON IN THE WORLD (2021).
