Mandagsfilmen: Anora

Anora, a young and charming stripper from Brooklyn, one evening gets an unusual client. The Russian boy is the son of a wealthy oligarch, who develops a deep interest in Anora. After a week of living it up together, they spontaneously travel to Las Vegas to get married. When the news reaches his parents in Russia, all measures are taken to have the marriage annulled.

Anora is Sean Baker’s third film to be released in Norway, following The Florida Project (2017) and Red Rocket (2021). The film received highly positive reviews during its world premiere at the Cannes Film Festival and won the main prize, the Palme d’Or.
