Mandagsfilmen 6. November is the french documentary Adamant.
Adamanten is a unique day center. It is an archetictural gem floating on the Seine in Paris. It looks like the mix of an art gallery and a steam boat on the Mississippi. The day center welcomes adults suffering from mental illnesses, and provides treatment and art therapy through music, painting, crafts, literature and film. The center also has it's own film festival, café and bar. The unique wooden building eliminates all forms of institutionalisation and creates an open space where one feels comfortable and wishes to return.
This warm and empathetic documentary provides a close up of nurses, psychiatrists, pedagouges and patients at the Adamant. The film won the golden bear at the Berlin film festival.
