Jazzfest: FOCUS // Screening "Sounds and Silence", Q&A and tour

Watch films during Jazzfest 2026! In collaboration with Jazzfest and Øra Studio, we are screening Sounds and Silence on the 6. May as a focus with a Q&A and tour 12:00, plus an ordinary screening at 17:30.
The film follows Manfred Eicher from ECM Records on his travels around the world and his collaborations with musicians, ensembles, and composers. We gain insight into what defines the ideal “sound” for Manfred and ECM, and how broadly the label works across jazz, classical, and traditional music.
There will be a Q&A with Anja Lechner, one of the musicians portrayed in the film, who is also performing at this year’s Jazzfest in a duo concert with Sissel Vera Pettersen. Anja has deep insight into ECM and how they work, and has toured the world with various ensembles. The Q&A will be conducted by Audun Vinger.
There will also be a guided tour of Øra Studio for those interested.
