Minuscule: Valley of the Lost Ants is a stunning animation film for younger children completely without dialogue. The cast of characters, which mainly consists of ants, communicate through the sounds of trumpets and flutes, but we always understand what they mean. A mix of real nature photography and animation creates an intriguing and beautiful visual expression which will excite both children and grown-ups.
The leftovers from an abandoned picnic in a peaceful clearing in the forest become the object of desire for two rivalling ant tribes, and the conflict is on. A young ladybug befriends an ant from the black ant tribe, and together they decide to guard over a box of delicious sugar cubes. Also interested in the sugar cubes are the ants from the rivalling red ant tribe.
